More Than Infrastructure: Crane's Commitment to Community Impact

We believe data centers should serve a greater purpose: strengthening the communities where they’re rooted.

At Crane, we believe that data centers should do more than power the digital world. They should positively impact the communities where they operate. As demand for digital infrastructure grows, so does our responsibility to support local economies, invest in sustainability, and create long-term benefits for the regions we serve. Our approach to community impact is not just a side initiative. It is a core part of how we do business.

Why Community Impact Matters

Data centers are essential to modern life, but their presence should bring real value to the communities around them. At Crane, we see our success as intertwined with the well-being of local residents, businesses, and the environment. We believe in listening to the people who know their communities best, building partnerships, and creating lasting opportunities.

Investing in Local Economies

We contribute to communities through capital investment, job creation, and tax revenue generation. Our projects create opportunities in construction, operations, and long-term maintenance while supporting regional contractors and suppliers. These efforts strengthen local businesses and provide resources for schools, emergency services, and other essential programs.

Community Engagement & Partnerships

We work with local leaders, nonprofits, and residents to identify the most meaningful ways to contribute, from sponsorships and volunteer efforts to infrastructure improvements and targeted investments in programs that enhance quality of life. Every community is unique, and we tailor our approach to align with local priorities, ensuring that our presence creates long-term value.

One example of this commitment is our work in Forest Grove, where we are collaborating with schools, universities, and local organizations to create opportunities that reflect the community’s goals and character.

A Local Focus: How We’re Making an Impact in Forest Grove

Our commitment to community impact comes to life in the regions where we operate. In Forest Grove, Oregon, we are investing in education, sustainability, and local culture to ensure our presence strengthens the community for the long term.

This includes an internship program with Pacific University to develop new workforce talent and participation in the Neil Armstrong Middle School Career Fair to inspire local students. We are partnering with Tuality Plains High School to create a community garden that combines learning and art, and with Pacific University to support a sustainability-focused art course featuring student work at our PDX01 site.

We also support community events like the National Civics Bee, Concours d’Elegance, and the Corn Roast through sponsorships and volunteer efforts, reflecting our commitment to investing in local culture, connection, and opportunity.

A Commitment to Shared Success

At Crane, we see every community we operate in as a long-term partner. Our success is measured not only in megawatts, but in the economic, social, and environmental benefits we help create. As we grow, so will our contributions.

As we continue to grow, so does our commitment to responsible development, sustainable practices, and community-driven progress. If you’re a local organization looking to collaborate, we’d love to hear from you - let’s build something great together.
